Hotel Indigo Dubai Downtown announces its first artist in residency
The first certified boutique hotel in the UAE continues to bring excitement to Dubai’s arts and culture scene with its first artist residency announcement.
Israeli Street Artist, Elior Hazan, also known as Aladdin, will be collaborating with the art-focused Hotel Indigo Dubai Downtown during his first-ever visit to Dubai. While exploring the city, he will draw inspiration from his surroundings and Dubai’s rich culture whilst collaborating with homegrown artists to create a one-of-a-kind artwork to demonstrate diversity in the UAE.
With its first artist in residency, Hotel Indigo Dubai Downtown and Elior Hazan, aim to promote peace through art that aligns with the UAE government’s initiative to foster a welcoming and open destination for all nationalities to enjoy. Using a modern art style, the piece will highlight the rich multicultural heritage of the UAE and illustrate diversity through each artist’s style and perception.
The final collaborative artwork, called Peace of Art, along with the names of the participating artists, will be revealed during a special art night on Thursday, 29 April. During the event, guests will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in an interactive live painting performance with Elior Hazan, the international graffiti artist.
Taking place at Orange Feels, Hotel Indigo’s pool lounge, foodies and creatives can also enjoy a unique artsy Iftar dining experience, featuring a selection of hot and cold mezze, specially curated menus, and refreshing Ramadan juices and soft drinks, for only AED 125 per person or AED 195 for two.
Hotel Indigo Dubai Downtown is somewhat of a gallery itself. Across the hotel’s 19 floors, curious guests can discover over 200 artworks commissioned from Emirati and resident artists in partnership with Tashkeel, Alserkal Cultural Foundation and XVA Gallery, as well as temporary exhibits in the lobby.
