The island’s first surf park is making its way to Bahrain
Bahrain Surf Park is scheduled to open in 2026.
Bahrain might be a small country, but don’t let its size fool you. This island packs a punch when it comes to things to do. Be it exploring Al Areen Wildlife Park or embarking on the Pearling Path, the country is sure to keep you entertained. And now, it’s about to ride a new wave by welcoming Bahrain Surf Park.
Located on the southwest coast, Bahrain Surf Park — opening in 2026 — will form part of the Bilaj Al Jazayer development project, which spans over one million square meters. The development will also be home to several upcoming beachfront hotels, residences and retail outlets.
The Bahrain Surf Park will use Wavegarden Cove technology, which is the gold standard for professional surfers. This waterbody will be able to generate up to 1,000 waves per hour, which is suitable for surfers of all skill levels. Cabanas and sunbeds will also be available to chill after or between surfs.
Bahrain Surf Park is also home to the Club Hawaii Surf Academy, where aspiring surfers can sign up for training programs. These programs will cater to everyone from beginners to advanced surfers. But that’s not all. The outdoor destination also aims to host an international surfing competition when it opens making Bahrain a must-visit destination.
Beyond surfing, the venue will feature terraces, retail outlets, and restaurants. Private entertainment areas will give schools a chance to host their events, and the venue can also double up as a space for corporate affairs.
The first wave park in Bahrain promises to add a splash of excitement to Bahrain’s entertainment scene. And with an opening only two years away, you can start honing your surfing skills now.
