Embark on a night of Portuguese perfection at Bistro des Arts

The one-night-only Portuguese themed three-chefs-dinner takes place tomorrow. 

With the world’s largest annual food and beverage exhibition currently underway until 25 February, Gulfood brings together the world’s best chefs as Luciano Marques and Rui Silvestre join Bistro des Arts’ Joao Garcia for a Portuguese themed three-chefs-dinner.

Tomorrow night, Tuesday 23 February, the trio of acclaimed chefs will unite for a one-night-only dining event, creating a six-course menu with exclusive pairing, priced at AED 650 per person.

Dubai based Luciano Marques, who works with the José Avillez Group at Tasca in Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai, will prepare Portuguese classics inspired by the coastal and inland regions, bursting with character and flavours, for both the starter and dessert course. These are set to include carrot à Algarvia, roasted chicken Piri Piri, crunchy Bacalhau in escabeche and raspberry, Bluefin tuna Caviar and for dessert, a refreshing lime and lemon globe.

Meanwhile, Rui Silvestre, whose restaurant Vistas Rui Silvestre was awarded a Michelin star in 2018 and resulted in him becoming the youngest Portuguese chef to attain this prize, will take the helm for the main courses of roasted red mullet, squid ravioli, langoustine and harissa and lamb loin, beetroot, black garlic and anchovies. 

Both chefs will be supported by Bistro des Arts’ Head Chef, Joao Garcia, who was born and raised in Portugal and will be preparing starters of sopa da pedra and an octopus salad, peppers and onion compote.

The evenings setting will be the charing Bistro des Arts, the quintessential 1970 Parisian bistro overlooking Dubai Marina’s waters.
