Dukes The Palm, a Royal Hideaway Hotel is preparing for a fiesta of excitement this coming weekend. The five-star property located on Palm Jumeirah is part of Spanish owned international Barceló Hotel Group and has partnered with LaLiga to host the United Arab Emirates first edition of the Spanish Extravaganza Festival from September 10 to 12.
The Spanish Extravaganza Festival is an annual event and the brainchild of Ferran Adrià, former Head Chef at the three Michelin star elBulli restaurant in Spain. Conceptualised to share the art and secrets of Spanish cuisine across the globe, the festival has taken place in 55 countries and finally arrives on the shores of Dukes The Palm, a Royal Hideaway Hotel for a series of mouth-watering events. The three-day festival is set to include curated masterclasses, themed brunches and culinary creations from four of Spain’s most celebrated chefs – Chef Juanlu Fernandez, Chef Fernando del Cerro, Chef Ager Urigüen and Paella Master, Chef David Montero.
On September 10, foodies are invited to enjoy an experiential live paella tasting and grilled meat masterclass with chef David Montero. Known for his exceptional charisma and flair for innovative paella creations, guests will have the chance to interact with Montero as he takes them on an immersive journey to the heart of Spain. Montero will share his passion and expertise during the masterclass and divulge the history and culinary techniques surrounding the popular Spanish dish. 7:30 pm to 11 pm, in Great British Restaurant. The vibrancy of the weekend continues with the Spanish Extravaganza Brunch taking place on September 11 and 12. Featuring an epicurean feast that will transport guests to the colourful streets of Barcelona from the beachside setting of West 14th Steakhouse. This one-off brunch is set to be a lively affair, with a menu curated by Spain’s most acclaimed Michelin chefs and a global paella master. Live cooking stations will showcase 20 LaLiga tapas dishes, inviting guests on a Spanish culinary journey. Brunch runs on both Friday and Saturday from 1pm to 5pm. AED 275 (soft beverages) and AED 375 (house beverages).
