Gamers get ready because a groundbreaking event is on the horizon. Saudi Arabia is gearing up to host one of the world’s most extensive gaming extravaganzas, the Esports World Cup. The annual tournament is all set to kick off in Riyadh from 3 July until 25 August, promising eight weeks of gaming action.
Taking place in Boulevard City, Esports World Cup 2024 will see thousands of gamers competing in the championship. Beyond games, you’ll be able to witness various gaming activations and pop culture events at the venue.
A total of 19 games is expected to be played at Esports World Cup 2024 with an awards ceremony to be held on 24 August. The winning team will win a grand prize of over SAR 225,000,000 ($60,000,000). Tickets for five of the 19 games have just been dropped and start for as low as SAR 12.
HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman unveiled this grand plan during “The New Global Sports Conference” in Riyadh, where key figures from the sports, gaming, and esports sectors gathered to witness the exciting revelation. International sports icons, including Cristiano Ronaldo had also joined the event, emphasising the growing interest in esports.
The announcement was a strategic move to propel Saudi Arabia into the global gaming and esports sphere. The event will feature the most popular games from a wide range of genres, offering players and fans an unforgettable gaming experience. The Esports World Cup will also boast the largest prize pool in the history of esports.

The Esports World Cup aligns with Saudi Arabia’s National Gaming and Esports Strategy, which aims to significantly boost the gaming sector’s contribution to the Kingdom’s GDP. Additionally, this initiative will create around 39,000 new job opportunities, fueling economic diversification in line with Vision 2030. This annual esports extravaganza is expected to attract gaming enthusiasts from around the world, potentially increasing tourism to the Kingdom.
