Guns N’ Roses will perform in the capital this summer

The rock and roll legends will perform at Etihad Arena on 1 June.

Get ready to rock because it has been announced that Guns N’ Roses will perform live in the capital this summer as part of their 2023 World Tour.

Kicking off the tour on Thursday, 1 June, at Etihad Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, the band will then travel the globe from Greece to Norway, treating fans to electrifying rock anthems including Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door and Sweet Child O’ Mine.

The band was initially formed in Los Angeles in 1985 and currently comprises of lead vocalist Axl Rose, lead guitarist Slash, bassist Duff McKagan, keyboardist Dizzy Reed, rhythm guitarist Richard Fortus, drummer Frank Ferrer and keyboardist Melissa Reese. The band rose to fame in the late 80s and early 90s thanks to a unique sound blending hard rock, heavy metal and punk rock elements. Their debut album, Appetite for Destruction, released in 1987, became the highest-selling debut album in the United States, selling over 30 million copies worldwide.

Guns N’ Roses remains one of the world’s most-streamed rock bands, with an average of 24 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Following the reunion of the century, they headlined Coachella and sold five million-plus tickets to their Not In This Lifetime… Tour. 

Fans of rock music are in for a real treat as Guns N’ Roses makes their return to the UAE after five years, having previously performed in the capital as part of the Yasalam Formula 1 After-Race Concerts in 2018.

The band’s upcoming performance promises to be a hit-packed spectacle, featuring legendary tracks such as November Rain and Welcome To The Jungle. The former track has crossed 2 billion views on YouTube, cementing it as one of the most-watched rock videos of all time. 

With a reputation for rocking stadiums for almost four decades, this is a not-to-be-missed chance for both residents and visitors of Abu Dhabi to witness a true musical phenomenon.

If you love live music, then you’re in for a treat. There are a whole range of exciting artists coming to the UAE. American superstar Demi Lovato announced that they will perform at Coca-Cola Arena Dubai on 18 March, whilst Backstreet Boys will take to the stage at Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Arena on 7 May.

Tickets for Guns N’ Roses in Abu Dhabi will be available on Friday, 3 March at 12pm.
