The girl group are bringing their Born Pink world tour to the region.
You wait ages for one K-pop band to come to the region, and then three come along at once. K-pop supergroup Blackpink are bringing their Born Pink world tour to Abu Dhabi, UAE and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. K-pop fans will be delighted, as the news follows the recent announcement that Hyperound K-Fest Abu Dhabi is coming to the UAE capital.
The South Korean girl group start their world tour in October, and it will stop off at cities including Seoul, Singapore and Sydney. Blackpink are scheduled to perform in Riyadh on 20 January 2023 and Abu Dhabi on 28 January 2023.
Blackpink’s concert in Saudi Arabia will be part of the capital’s Riyadh Season. Turki Al-Sheikh, chairman of the Board of Directors of General Entertainment Authority (GEA), said: “Blackpink concert in Riyadh will be one of the big surprises in the upcoming Riyadh Season.”
Blackpink launched in 2016 with the members Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa and Rose, and the fabulous foursome they have gone on to break musical records. During their career, they were the first group and Korean female act to have five music videos amass one billion views each on YouTube, and are the most-followed female group on Spotify. The hugely popular group also have more than 48 million followers on Instagram.
As Blackpink’s last album came out in October 2020, the group’s fans are buzzing with excitement. Blackpink are dropping a new single Pink Venom on 19 August, and a new album Born Pink is set to be released this September.
