Relive the early 2000s at the UKG brunch.

Three members of the UK garage collective, So Solid Crew, are headed to Dubai for a one-off performance at Phileas Fogg’s this weekend.

The group, who rose to fame in the early 2000s with their hit singles 21 Seconds, Oh No (Sentimental Things), and Envy will perform at the UKG Brunch 5th birthday celebrations on Saturday, 28 January.

Known for their socially conscious lyrics, So Solid Crew were seen as pioneers of the Garage movement that popularised the once-underground genre in the years following the millennium. With more than twenty MCs and singers in the crew, we can expect Romeo, Harvey and Dandaman to grace Dubai with their presence this weekend.

Being at the forefront of the UK Garage scene, So Solid Crew paved the way for UK garage acts such as Artful Dodger, Ms. Dynamite, Shola Ama, Dizzee Rascal, Wiley and Dubai resident Dane Bowers, who will also perform at this weekends event.

Following their success in the early 2000s, many members of So Solid Crew went on to pursue solo projects. Asher D now stars as Dushane in the hit Netflix series Top Boy, Romeo enjoyed a successful solo career that included a collaboration with Christina Milian, and Harvey married fellow UK Garage sensation Alesha Dixon from Mis-teeq.

Bringing a touch of nostalgia to the golfing greens at Address Montgomerie, the UKG Brunch is known for its laid-back vibes. Hosted by BBC comedian Aurie Styla, brunch-goers can expect an afternoon of food, frivolity and fun games to keep the vibe high.

Backed by a soundtrack of your favourite pirate radio hits, this is one unmissable event for all the garage heads.

The UKG Brunch takes place at Phileas Fogg on Saturday, 28 February, from 2pm to 5pm. AED 299 (soft beverages), AED 399 (house beverages) and AED 499 (premium beverages).
