Abu Dhabi, this one’s for you. The legendary British singer, Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner – aka Sting is returning to the UAE capital. Following his shows at Saadiyat Nights and Atlantis, The Palm’s New Year’s Eve celebrations, he’ll now perform at Etihad Arena.
If you want to see Sting in Abu Dhabi, the legendary rock star will take the stage on Thursday, 3 April 2025. Prepare yourself for a musical rollercoaster as he belts out timeless classics like Every Breath You Take and Fields of Gold, weaving in new hits that promise to captivate. Expect the blend of rock, pop, and soul that has made him a living legend.
Joined by guitarist and longtime collaborator Dominic Miller, along with drummer Chris Maas (Mumford & Sons, Maggie Rogers), the show forms part of the “STING 3.0” World Tour. The setlist will feature a mix of hits and rarities from Sting’s timeless discography. The tour kicked off in Europe this summer and recently began its North American leg in Detroit.
Sting is no stranger to the UAE and has frequented the country often. he has won an impressive 17 Grammy Awards with The Police and as a solo artist, which included Song of the Year for Every Breath You Take. Plus, he has won three Brit Awards, which include Best British Male Artist and Outstanding Contribution and has been nominated four times for the Academy Awards for Best Original Song.
Sting hails from North Tyneside, England, and has had less rock n roll professions such as a labourer, bus conductor and tax collector. When the singer first started performing, he had a habit of wearing black and yellow striped jumpers, which earned him his nickname.
We’re hoping that when we see Sting in Abu Dhabi his performance will feature songs from his career, which spans five decades and includes Fields of Gold, Shape of My Heart, Roxanne, Englishman In New York, Every Breath You Take and Message in a Bottle.
Tickets to see Sting in Abu Dhabi go on sale this week. Sting’s Fan Club members will have exclusive access to a pre-sale starting Wednesday, 23 October at 12pm local time via sting.com. The Live Nation pre-sale begins Thursday, 24 October at 12pm local time, with general tickets going on sale Friday, 25 October at 12pm local time.
