The world-famous festival takes place on 11 March 2023.

Brits will be familiar with Wireless Festival, as the music festival has had headliners ranging from Rihanna to Kanye West. Now the festival is making its way to the UAE in 2023 for the first time, and we are buzzing with excitement. Wireless Festival in Abu Dhabi takes place on Saturday, 11 March, and here’s what to expect.

The inaugural Wireless Festival in Abu Dhabi will be held on Yas Island. So far, we know that there will be 13 live performances across multiple stages. Plus, the acts will include the biggest names from hip-hop, rap, R&B, grime and dance.

Details about Wireless Festival in Abu Dhabi’s headliners have not yet been released. Expect big names, however, as previous acts have included Bruno Mars, Drake, Jay-Z and Stormzy.

Wireless Festival started life in London’s Hyde Park back in 2005, and has since taken place across the city in the Olympic Park, Crystal Palace Park and Finsbury Park. Plus, it has taken place in Leeds and Birmingham, and outside of the UK in Frankfurt, Germany.

Over the years, Wireless Festival has created memorable musical moments. Drake booed the rain away, Prince Harry was once spotted in the crowd, Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne rolled above the crowd in an inflatable bubble, and Kanye West ranted for 20 minutes about creative freedom and Nike.

If you can’t wait until next year for Wireless Festival in Abu Dhabi, there are plenty of great concerts and festivals taking place in the UAE. On New Year’s Eve, you can shout “happy new year” with Kylie Minogue at Atlantis, The Palm and Enrique Inglesias at Nammos Dubai. Plus, next year’s performers include American rockers Imagine Dragon, former Police frontman Sting and K pop supergroup Blackpink.
