Check out their catch version of the Arabic classic, Mabsota.
adidas has been putting its most stylish foot forward in the Middle East. The sportswear brand has been making headlines with adidas X Ravi collection, Saudi Arabian football team jerseys and now its latest campaign. adidas have done it again with Club Originals, which celebrates Middle Eastern creativities from the world of art, music and style.
The new adidas Middle East campaign shines a spotlight on trailblazing talent and aims to inspire future creatives. The campaign includes Egyptian DJs Disco Misr and Emirati Egyptian singer and rapper Almas. The trio Disco Misr hail from Cairo, Egypt, and are famous for their mixture of traditional sounds with disco, funk and electro. Almas has been an ambassador of Spotify’s Equal Arabia programme, and performed at Expo Dubai 2020.
As part of the adidas Club Originals campaign, the pair have created an exclusive collaboration. Disco Misr and Almas have recorded their very own version of the iconic Arabic track, Mabsota. Egyptian singer and songwriter, Simone Philip Kamel, is behind the original song.
The updated version of Mabsota boasts a fun promotional video, which combines nostalgia and modern trends. In the video, we see the Disco Misr and Almas decked out in adidas gear, from the three striped socks, sneakers and sweaters. The group are seen playing at a house party, as more and more people join – even through the window. Almas is spotted putting on her make-up, and then dancing and singing.
