Dubai Fashion Week is set to make a stylish comeback
Get ready to slay the fashion game.
Fashionistas in the emirates, hold onto your heels because Dubai Fashion Week (DFW) is making a grand comeback. Taking place at the Dubai Design District from 9 to 15 October 2023, this extravaganza promises to be a dazzling showcase of some fantastic Spring/Summer 24 collections, brand launches, and much more.
This year, Dubai Fashion Week will once again serve as an international stage for both emerging and established designers, solidifying Dubai’s place among the fashion capitals of London, Milan, New York, and Paris. With international buyers and distributors in attendance, this event will become a gateway for designers from around the world to expand their footprint in the Middle East. Sustainability is also a big focus this year, in line with the UAE’s Year of Sustainability and the upcoming COP28 in Dubai.
DFW 2023 is set to feature more than 25 designers from over 12 countries. And, guess what? A world-renowned, New York-based designer is in the mix, though their identity remains a secret for now. Local heroes like Dima Ayad, Lama Jouni, Mrs. Keepa and Victor Weinsanto will grace the runway, alongside d3-based designers Michael Cinco, Pipatchara, and The Giving Movement. New names like Anaya, Rizman Ruzaini. Viva Vox and Yaspis will also be strutting their stuff. Elsewhere, the late Russian couturier Valentin Yudashkin’s creations will debut in Dubai, proving to be a momentous occasion.
To foster international talent and encourage collaboration, DFW will introduce The Designers Showroom — a versatile platform that brings designers, buyers, shoppers, and media together in one space to explore the world of fashion.
With a focus on nurturing fresh talent, The Graduate Fashion Foundation will be a highlight, showcasing innovative presentations by students from over 30 universities worldwide. The FAD Institute, based in d3, will also give a sneak peek of their students’ work during a dedicated show.
Prestigious Italian fashion school Polimoda is also making a splash by partnering with the Arab Fashion Council to launch an exciting competition. The winner will snag a Polimoda scholarship — a golden ticket to the world of fashion.
This year’s Dubai Fashion Week is bigger and better than before.
See you on the runway!
