The Italian fashion house brings its designs to the event.
Dubai Fashion Week might not yet be part of the Big Four. London, Paris, Milan and New York dominate the fashion cycle, yet Dubai has been putting its best foot forward. The city’s fashion week runs from 1 to 7 September 2024, and it has been announced that Roberto Cavalli will close the event.
Roberto Cavalli is named after the Italian-born fashion designer. Roberto was born in Florence, Italy, and started his fashion career by working with patchwork, printing, and leather. When he was 32 years old, he presented his first collection in Paris. In 1972, he opened his first boutique shop in Saint Tropez, France, and in 1975, he founded the fashion house Roberto Cavalli.
Today, Roberto Cavalli is one of the world’s most famous Italian fashion houses. The brand is famous for its luxury accessories, clothing and perfumes. The clothes have been worn by celebrities including Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez and Madonna.
Dubai Fashion Week takes place in Dubai Design District, and this year’s event will showcase fashion houses’ Spring/Summer 2025 collection. The event brings together Arab as well as international designers, and welcomes industry leaders from around the world.
Dubai Fashion Week was previously known as Arab Fashion Week. Previous designers at the event include Antonio Marras, Blumarine, Iris Van Herpen, Jean Paul Gaultier, Moschino and Wes Gordon. Plus, this year, the American designer Carolina Herrara has been named as a guest of honour.
