Not content with ruling the fine dining scene with GAIA and Maison de la Plage, Chef Izu has now turned his hands to burgers.

Attention, burger lovers. An upmarket burger joint has opened in Boxpark courtesy of acclaimed Chef Izu Ani. Izu Burger aims to elevate the humble burger and bun and offer a premium experience. So, if you’re looking for some comfort food with a difference, here’s what you need to know.

Located in Boxpark, Izu Burger is a hip hangout. The venue features an industrial aesthetic with exposed concrete and blue ceramic tiles. The space exudes an urban charm, and the décor is enhanced with concrete finishes, neon lighting and a merch stand featuring Izu branded t-shirts.

Prepared with high-quality ingredients, the burgers are piled high, stacking patty upon patty and dripping in sauces. The signature is the Potato Bun Burger, made with a choice of Australian Wagyu Beef or 150-day grain-fed Canadian Beef. It is topped with melted Emmental Swiss Cheese, signature sauce and a soft Potato Bun to soak up the juices. However, don’t sleep on the Izu Fries, which offer thick wedges of potato with a crisp skin and fluffy consistency drizzled with a spicy sauce and topped with shavings of fresh Parmigiano-Reggiano and mixed spices.

The Milk Baguette Burger is not your typical baguette. Featuring fluffy bread, the baguette burger is again filled with either Australian Wagyu Beef or 150-day grain-fed Canadian Beef, complemented by Emmental Swiss Cheese and signature sauce. Elsewhere, the Trio of Sliders includes three mini 150-day grain-fed Canadian beef burgers. However, no menu by Chef Izu would be complete without a signature cheesecake, and Izu Burger serves a slice topped with a layer of tropical Passionfruit.

Burger boxes have a playful touch and are printed with phrases such as “beauty is in the eye of the burger-holder” and “good food, good mood.”

Chef Izu Ani, Concept Creator of Izu Burger, said, “Everything in life has a cause and effect, it is the attention we pay and the work we put into something that makes it stand out from the rest. With Izu Burger, I wanted to make juicy, tasty burgers, with clean, conscious ingredients so that we can trust in what we are putting into our bodies. Yes, enjoy a dirty burger, but eat one made with pure intentions and carefully sourced flavours. Make it a part of your lifestyle, without restrictions, and use the energy to fuel your next adventure.”

Izu Burger initially began with five menu items on Deliveroo, acting as a taster for this first physical Izu Burger joint. With an expanded menu offering including more meat, milkshakes and juices, Izu Burger is in good company at City Walk. The cool culinary concepts include Forever Rose Cafe from Dubai Bling Star Ebraheem Al Samadi, French restaurant RSVP and the homegrown cafe concept Saddle.

Izu Burger is open daily from 11am to midnight.
