After spas, sports and sun? It’s all a 15-minute boat ride away from Dubai’s mainland.
You don’t have to jump on a plane when you want a break from city life in the UAE. Instead, you can soon hop on a boat to the World Islands and check into a private island resort: Zuha Island.
The UAE knocks out megaproject after megaproject, but The World Islands might just be one of its most ambitious yet. The 300 artificial islands are shaped into the world’s continents, and this new private island looks set to be one of its most exclusive.
Even though we have to wait until 2024 for Zuha Island to open, we are already excited by the sound of the project. Created by the same group behind Abu Dhabi’s Nurai Island, it promises to be a tranquil retreat.
Located 15 minutes from Dubai’s mainland, Zuha Island will encompass 30 one-, two- and three-bedroom villas and 70 resort villas on the ocean’s edge. The villas range in size and facilities – some come with a private beach, pool and a plot of land.
Oozing boutique retreat vibes, Zuha Island will feel like you’re a world (island) away from the hustle and bustle of Dubai. The site will include a spa, healing centre, beach club and communal pool. Plus, there will also be a dedicated kids’ club.
For those who want to keep active, there will be watersports aplenty, a floating paddle tennis court and gym. Plus, it will be home to an all-day dining restaurant with a ceviche bar.
The World Islands is already home to Anantara World Islands Dubai Resort, and The Heart of Europe’s hotel Côte d’Azur Monaco is scheduled to open soon. Other projects on the island include the heart-shaped Honeymoon Island, Portofino Hotel resort, Floating Seahorse Villas and Sweden Beach Palace.
A whole new world awaits.
