Dubai has been named the best city in the MENA region

Brand Finance City Index released the list, which evaluated 100 cities worldwide based on feedback from 15,000 individuals across 20 countries. Participants shared their opinions on various aspects of each city, including its reputation, livability, work opportunities, educational offerings, tourism appeal and investment potential. Dubai received several accolades across these factors, solidifying its position as a dynamic global destination.

Renowned as the “City of Gold” for its world-class shopping experiences, Dubai has evolved beyond its reputation. It has successfully positioned itself as a leading hub for finance, trade, and entrepreneurship. The emirate’s strong performance in multiple business and investment categories further solidifies its reputation as a strategic global player.

It has also garnered international attention for its resilience and swift recovery from the challenges posed by the pandemic. Being named the social media capital of the world and one of the first cities to reopen after lockdowns, Dubai has consistently showcased its ability to adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing landscape.

While Dubai rightfully claims the top spot in the MENA region, Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE, secured the second-best city rank. Abu Dhabi’s strong performance in business and investment categories contributed to its ranking. The capital city excelled globally in various aspects, including attractive corporate and personal taxation, ease of doing business, start-up and innovation support and employment opportunities.
