A Gold Line has been announced as part of the Metro’s expansion plans.

Dubai is on track to make daily commutes smoother. It has already announced plans to expand the Dubai Metro, which will have multiple new routes and now, it’s also gearing up to launch a Dubai Metro Gold Line.

According to a report from Middle East Business Intelligence (MEED), the procurement process for the Dubai Metro Gold Line is already underway. The new Dubai Metro Gold Line will start at Al Ghubaiba in Bur Dubai and pass through key locations such as Business Bay, Meydan, Global Village, and Dubailand, covering major residential and commercial hubs.

Designed to enhance connectivity between older and newer parts of Dubai, this latest metro expansion is expected to ease congestion. By running parallel to the Red Line before heading inland, the Gold Line will help distribute passenger traffic more evenly, reducing overcrowding and making travel more seamless.

The Gold Line is a strategic move to encourage more people to opt for public transport, reducing the number of cars on the road and, in turn, cutting down commute times — especially during peak hours.

Last October, the RTA announced the 30km Blue Line, designed to connect the Red and Green lines with five underground stations.

Upcoming Yellow, Purple, and Pink lines, along with an extension of the Red Line are also on the agenda. These new routes will enhance connectivity to Muhaisanah, International City, Academic City, The Villa, Damac Hills, Al Maktoum International Airport, Jumeirah Village Circle, Nad Al Sheba, and more of Barsha, reaching Palm Jebel Ali.

As Dubai continues to expand, the Gold Line will play a crucial role in making the city more connected, accessible and sustainable. With this new addition to the metro network, people can look forward to a smoother, faster and more convenient way to navigate the city.
