This new architectural marvel is going to be open to visitors of all faiths.
Dubai’s skyline is a testament to its relentless pursuit of architectural marvels. From the Burj Khalifa to the luxurious Palm Jumeirah, the city has consistently raised the bar for innovative and groundbreaking structures. And now, it’s about to add another jewel to its crown – the world’s first underwater floating mosque.
While this won’t be visible on the skyline, this floating mosque, valued at a staggering AED 55 million, will be nestled along the Dubai Water Canal. Poised to redefine the concept of spiritual encounters, it’s more than just a place of worship that will welcome visitors from all faiths. To promote religious tourism, the mosque aims to create an environment of inclusivity and understanding.
The heart of this mosque lies beneath the waters, where a prayer hall awaits, capable of accommodating 50 to 75 worshippers at a time. The mosque also features two halls designed for Islamic lectures and workshops.
And that’s not all. Concept images reveal that the mosque also has sitting areas and a coffee shop, which will be above the water. Distributed across three floors, ablution facilities and washrooms will also be available at the submerged level.
While the exact location of the mosque remains undisclosed, it’s expected to be very close to the shore, accessible through a bridge connected to the mainland. Construction is set to commence soon, with the sanctuary scheduled to open to visitors next year.
The world’s first underwater floating mosque is destined to become a must-visit destination for those seeking a distinctive spiritual experience.
