The second phase of the development has been announced.

Dubai is home to some of the world’s most beautiful beaches. Now, the team behind Dubai Urban Plan 2040 have unveiled its latest plans. The Al Mamzar Beach Development in Dubai has been awarded AED 400 million ($109 million) worth of contracts and is now in its second phase of development.

Al Mamzar Beach Development will cover more than 125,000 square meters. The aim is to create a space for both residents and visitors. The site includes a 200-metre-long pedestrian pontoon bridge, which connects the two banks of the creek. The 300-metre-long night swimming beach is designed to be accessible for people with disabilities. Plus, there will be a five-kilometre walkway with running and cycling tracks.

At the heart of the development is the Al Mamzar Corniche. The features include a 2,000 square metre skateboarding area, children’s play areas, restrooms and beach lounges. Additional features include a 1,000-metre running, walking and cycling path. The paths will link Al Mamzar Creek Beach and Al Mamzar Park. Plus, there will be a 5,000-square-metre area for seasonal events and activities.

Al Mamzar Corniche Beach has also hit the headlines, as it will feature a dedicated public beach for women. Privacy and safety will be the key factors, from a secure gated entrance to fencing. The ladies will offer night swimming, a sports club, commercial services and children’s play areas.

Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, explained: “This project reflects our commitment to creating innovative, sustainable infrastructure that aligns with Dubai’s future ambitions, solidifying its leading position across various vital sectors, and supporting the achievement of Dubai Economic Agenda D33 targets.”
