The locations include Al Mamzar Beach and Jumeirah 1 Beach.
Dubai is filled with marvellous megaprojects. Now, the Higher Committee for Urban Planning and Wellbeing has announced that two Dubai beaches will be getting a makeover. Al Mamzar Beach and Jumeirah 1 Beach will undergo an AED 355 million redevelopment, and here are the state-of-the-art facilities.
The new proposal is part of Dubai’s 2040 urban master plan, and the Dubai Master Plan for Public Beaches. The plan is expected to be completed with 18 months, and includes the building of a sustainable infrastructure for the coastal and beach facilities.
Al Mamzar Beach stretches 4.1 kilometres, and Jumeirah 1 Beach stretches 1.4 kilometres. The beaches aim to become a tourism destination and will include new recreational facilities, water sports, showers, toilets and changing rooms. As part of the developments, Dubai will open its first 24/7 beach with night swimming, which will span 300 metres in Deira.

The megaproject will also include a five-kilometre-long pedestrian path connecting the two beaches and 11- kilometres of cycling and running tracks surrounded by trees. There will also be 10 play areas, children’s playgrounds and barbecue zones. Plus, a 200-metre-long floating bridge will connect both sides of Al Mamzar Beach.
The development will include 1,400 parking spaces for cars and buses, and dedicated charging stations for eco-friendly vehicles. The area will also be home to drinking water stations, irrigation systems, and sewage drainage systems. Plus, there will be more than 100 cameras, which are linked to Dubai Municipality and Dubai Police.
