This new addition promises to make commuting within the capital easier.

Ever since its launch late last year, Riyadh Metro has been making life easier for people in the Saudi capital. And now, to keep the momentum going, it has introduced the Bus On Demand service.

Adding an extra layer of convenience to your daily travels, Bus On Demand will allow you to connect more across Riyadh. Whether you’re headed to work or just exploring the city, this new service is designed to get you to the Riyadh Metro, and beyond.

The new service operates like your personal shuttle service but without the hefty price tag. Instead of fixed bus routes and schedules, this service lets you request a ride whenever you need it, but within specific zones. All you need to do is book a ride through the Darb app, get picked up at a nearby spot, and the bus drops you right at one of Riyadh’s main Metro or BRT stations.

Currently, Bus On Demand is up and running across seven key zones in Riyadh. These are the Aqiq and Hittin Zone, Al Andalus and An Nahdah Zone, Aziziyah Zone, Ghirnatah Zone, West Al-Uraija and Tuwaiq Zone, Qurtubah, Al Wadi, Al Falah and An Nada Zone and Yarmuk and Ishbiliyah Zone.

To book a Bus On Demand,  download the Darb app and choose your ticket. You can either grab a combined pass, covering both Riyadh Public Transport and Bus On Demand or just buy a single Bus On Demand ticket. Pay via card or Apple Pay. Once you’re at the station, just tap your card or phone and pass right through the gates.

Riyadh Metro is a part of Saudi Arabia’s bigger vision to transform city living and make everyday life easy. It stretches across 176 kilometres, six lines, and 85 stations, making it the largest metro system ever built in a single phase. And now, with the Bus On Demand service in the mix, you’re going to be well-connected within the capital.
