The development will add eight islands, 36 kilometres of coastline and a theme park to the emirate.
The UAE is constantly evolving, and while Dubai and Abu Dhabi often steal the spotlight, Sharjah is proving it’s just as ambitious. With Ajmal Makan City taking shape at the Sharjah Waterfront, the emirate is bringing a new wave of luxury hospitality and entertainment to the region.
Located in Al Hamriyah, Ajmal Makan City stretches across 60 million square feet of beachfront. The $6.8bn project introduces eight islands, adding 36 kilometres of coastline to Sharjah’s landscape. A massive 800-berth marina is also on the blueprint, which is set to accommodate luxury boats and yachts.

Ajmal Makan City has been designed for 60,000 residents and features 1,500 villas, mid-rise buildings, hotels, serviced apartments, a university, schools and mixed-use towers.
But Ajmal Makan City doesn’t just stop at that. Crystal Gulf Water Theme Park, spanning 1.5 million square feet, is also on the agenda. This upcoming waterpark will feature over 35 rides and attractions, making it a year-round hotspot for thrill-seekers and families.

A shopping mall will also be built to house local and international brands, cinemas and hypermarkets, overlooking the canals and the islands.
Gone are the days when people from Dubai would complain about Sharjah traffic because a Water Taxi service will be introduced, connecting the two emirates with a travel time of 35 minutes.

Beyond infrastructure, sustainability remains a focus for Ajmal Makan City. About 60 per cent of the land will be dedicated to green spaces, beaches, and public zones. Plus, the development offers a seamless connection to Al Ittihad Road, Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, and Emirates Road; it’s within easy reach of three international airports, Dubai, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah.
