After a speakeasy? Go through a secret door inside Alaya and enter a lavish Bedouin-inspired bar.
If you’re looking to earn bar brownie points, then add this new speakeasy to your list. Chef Izu is opening the new nightclub LY-LA, and it looks like it’s about to create some serious FOMO. The new venue is located beneath his latest restaurant Alaya Dubai, and sits behind a well-concealed and we’re assuming soundproof door.
LY-LA promises to be an intimate yet glamorous destination. Located in upmarket DIFC, it draws inspiration from local traditions and is lavishly decorated in a Bedouin style. The rich textures and colours bring together a Middle Eastern vibe, which mixes nightlife with nostalgia. Plus, guests can expect an exciting musical line-up including afro, melodic, house music and Middle Eastern instruments.
If you want to make an evening of it, we recommend starting off in Alaya Dubai. Created by Chef Izu and Evgeny Kuzin, it pays tribute to their travels and the region. The restaurant celebrates Mediterranean cuisine and features Middle Eastern influences.
Alaya Dubai is all about understated elegance, and we imagine that its sister nightclub will exude that same class. Sure, there are the classic white table clothes, but also stylish shades of green in the restaurant – think jade seats, emerald banquettes and even olive waistcoats on the staff. Plus, if Alaya Dubai’s creative cocktail list is anything to go by, LY-LA should be a place to raise a glass or three.
Born in Nigeria and raised in London, Chef Izu is a celebrity chef in Dubai. The Golden Visa holder has made the city his home, and is a homegrown success story. His restaurants include GAIA, Carine, and Eunoia by Carine, and have been frequented by royals including long-term supporter Crown Prince of Dubai HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
LY-LA’s door open from 11pm till late. The secret’s out.
