Located in Muscat, Snow Oman spans a whopping 14,830 square metres.
It wasn’t until 2022 that Lonely Planet dubbed Oman one of the world’s best tourism destinations – a fact we’ve known for years. Between its rich heritage and natural beauty, the sultanate makes for the ideal jaunt for UAE residents. Now, the Omani capital is home to the largest indoor snow park in the MENA region, making it that much more appealing for family holidays – and it opens its doors tomorrow.
Launched by retail and leisure pioneer Majid Al Futtaim, Snow Oman is located in Mall of Oman in Muscat, covering a sprawling area of 14,830 square metres. Themed’ Desert Blizzard’, it’s designed to be a reimagined world where Oman’s cityscapes and sand dunes are covered in real snow. Elsewhere, this uber-cool destination features family-friendly rides such as the Mountain Thriller, Snow Bullet, Slide Winder, Cloud Climber, and Zorb Ball as well as plenty of unique attractions – Cold Town Muscat, Frozen Shipwreck and a 475-square-metre ice rink. And like its sister venues Ski Dubai and Ski Egypt, Snow Oman hosts a colony of king and gentoo penguins that are provided the best possible care in a custom-built penguinarium.
It was back in 2005 when Majid Al FuttaimSn pioneered a one-of-a-kind, sub-zero leisure offering in the Mall of the Emirates. Ski Dubai has since been recognised as the World’s Best Indoor Ski Resort by the prestigious World Ski Awards for seven consecutive years. Ski Egypt followed in 2017, opening in Mall of Egypt and setting an all-new record for being the first of its kind in the African continent.
