Check out the cool collaboration taking place over Ramadan.
If the idea of putting a designer handbag on the floor fills you with fear, then this one’s for you. The world-famous fashion brand, Fendi, is collaborating with the much-loved café, tashas. The Fendi tashas Majlis is opening in Abu Dhabi, and runs from Sunday, 26 March through Ramadan.
The fashion industry swoons over a good partnership, from adidas X Ravi’s to the unveiling of Tiffany & Co.’s latest brand ambassador. This is the first time Fendi and tashas have worked together, and visitors can indulge in a special menu and events.
FACT Award-winning tashas is famous for its oh-so-chilled vibes, and serves one of the best breakfasts in the UAE. Natasha Sideris is behind the brand, and has created six tashas in the country.
The Fendi brand has a humble origin story. In 1925, it was created by the husband-and-wife team, Edoardo and Adele Fendi. It wasn’t until 1965 that it hit the big time, thanks to the bespeckled pony tailed fashion icon, Karl Lagerfeld. He was responsible for the double F logo, which is still used in its designs today.
The brand then entered popular culture, as it appeared on the TV show, Sex and The City – remember the Baguette bag, anyone? It was designed to be placed under the arm, just like you’d carry your baguette, obviously.
Fendi also broke new ground – literally. It was the first fashion brand to stage a runway show on the Great Wall of China. The Spring/Summer 2008 collection saw models walk 88 metres along one of the wonders of the world.
Fashion and fun await.
