The family-friendly festival takes place for 30 days.
Are you missing Expo? Well, Expo City Dubai‘s Hai Ramadan festival will offer activities during the Holy Month. Running from 9 March to 8 April, it brings together food, games and workshops.
Expo City Dubai’s Hai Ramadan runs for 30 days and kicks off on the weekend before Haq Al Laila. As for the name, Hai means ‘neighbourhood’ and ‘welcome’ in Arabic, which highlights how everyone is welcome.
At the heart of the family-friendly festival is food. If you’re looking for somewhere to break your fast or for suhoor, then put this on your radar. The festival showcases regional and international cuisine, from street food to sharing concepts. Plus, there is a night market selling gifts ranging from perfumes to tailormade clothes.
The event takes place at Al Wasl Plaza and features a vibrant souk filled with handcrafted treasures, traditional attire, and enchanting Ramadan-themed items. Visitors can also enjoy the immersive children’s workshops, where Emirati customs and crafts come alive.
As twilight descends, there will be performances from Rashid and Latifa as they embark on a quest to locate the moon, symbolising the essence of fasting in Ramadan. Be sure not to miss the Dubai cannon, returning for its second year, firing daily to mark the breaking of the fast.
On-site, there is a dedicated mosque that will host prayers, including Isha, Taraweeh and Tahajjud prayers. After the Taraweeh prayer, listen to storytellers share tales on adventure, culture, religion and morality.
Hai Ramadan at Expo City Dubai is free, and some activities cost. The festival takes place from 5pm to midnight and entry is AED 20 per person.
