Brunch has long been a staple of Friday afternoons in the UAE capital, but Bab Al Qasr Hotel on Abu Dhabi’s glittering corniche is upping the ante with a weekend extravaganza bursting with global flavours.
Taking place on the verdant green lawns leading down to the ocean at Loop Beach Restaurant, The BAQ Garden Kitchen outdoor street food market invites guests to embark on an epicurean journey around the world. During a time when borders remain closed and travel is difficult, Bab Al Qasr has created a culinary adventure set over 15 stalls, with cuisine from Mexico, Morocco, Vietnam, China, the USA and the Middle East. Decked out in market-style, guests are invited to peruse the stalls in search of tantalising dishes and street food classics while admiring the market-style decor or strung chilli peppers, colourful sombreros and boxes of fresh vegetables.
Keeping the atmosphere kinetic and authentic, several live-cooking stations are available. Tuck into succulent grills fresh from the fire, alongside a selection of shawarma, burgers, seafood and pasta, prepared to your liking. Pescatarian, vegetarian, and vegan options are also in abundance, with fresh fish, colourful poke bowls, raw vegetables, and salads available across the charming market-style stalls.
The gourmet experience eliminates with the dessert stations, featuring several sweet treats, ranging from cakes and mousses to tarts and fresh fruits.
Ideal for a weekend catch-up with friends and family, the gourmet street food market is a family-friendly affair. While the adults are busy brunching, children can access the 2000 sqm garden, adjacent sports facilities and a playground to burn off some energy before refuelling on the soft drinks and food offered.
The BAQ Garden Kitchen weekend street food market offers a laid-back afternoon escape that encourages relaxation, socialising and fun overlooking the beach and offshore islands.
The BAQ Garden Kitchen is available on Fridays and Saturdays, from 1pm to 4pm. AED 149 (soft beverages) and AED 199 (house beverages).
