6 culinary collabs you don’t want to miss this May

From BOCA teaming up with Pickl to Netsu and Tasca’s collaborative tasting menu, Dubai’s top chefs and brands are joining forces this month to create a series of memorable meals. 

10 May: BOCA X Pickl

Expect the unexpected across five surprise courses as Pickl Founder Steve Flawith and BOCA Head Chef Matthijs Stinnissen cook up a feast where fine dining meets fast food. Expect oysters, foie gras, fried chicken and even s’mores, plus a paired drinks menu, live music and a lively party atmosphere to match the fun culinary offering. Tuesday 10 May, from 7:30pm. 10 May: Chef Akmal Anuar X Platinum Heritage

This exclusive culinary collaboration will see Platinum Heritage’s chef Musaab join 11Woodfire’s chef Akmal Anuar to plate up a memorable dinner in the desert. Enjoy a set menu of ten specially curated dishes, served at the luxurious Platinum Heritage Desert Gate, with entertainment by live acrobats and fire specialists adding to the grandeur of the night. 11 and 12 May: Dibba Bay X Moreish by K Supper Club

Kunwal Safdar, the flavour queen behind Moreish by K, will collaborate with Dibba Bay Oysters for a five-course supper club featuring her trademark Persian and Punjabi spices. Oysters will be the hero ingredient in every course, served up for two nights only. Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 May, from 7:30pm. AED 265 per person.

17 and 18 May: José Avillez X Ross Shonhan

In celebration of Portugal’s profound influence on Japanese cuisine, Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai’s most prolific chefs, José Avillez and Ross Shonhan, have teamed up to create a limited-edition tasting menu that brings together the very best of Tasca and Netsu’s cuisines, for two nights only. Chef José Avillez and Chef Ross Shonhan have worked closely together to bring out the signature flavours of their cuisines, studying influences that date back almost five centuries. This unique and innovative menu encourages diners to explore the intrinsic links between Japanese and Portuguese cuisines and enjoy a unique twist on the avant-garde textures and flavours for which Chef José and Chef Ross are renowned. Tuesday 17 and Wednesday 18 May, from 6:30pm. AED 650 per person.

18 May: Four chefs’ dinner at Marea

Atelier House Hospitality will host a four chefs’ dinner with the culinary masterminds behind its portfolio of restaurants, including 11 Woodfire, Marea, Mohalla and the soon-to-open RSVP. The feast celebrates the hospitality brand’s fifth anniversary in Dubai and promises to be a night to remember with chefs Akmal Anuar, Adwait Anantwar, Aadel Ouaoua and Yunus Aydin. The degustation menu will include two starters, two main courses, one petit four platter (total of four petit fours created by each chef), and two premium beverages. Wednesday 18 May, from 8pm. 30 May: Torno Subito X Trèsind Studio

Taking place at W Dubai – The Palm, the second edition of Massimo’s Friends, will feature an eight-course menu curated by two culinary experts: Chef Bernardo Paladini (Torno Subito’s Chef de Cuisine) and Chef Himanshu Saini (of MENA’s 50 Best awarded Trèsind Studio). Experience La Dolce Vita with an exclusive dining experience featuring specially curated dishes blending Italian and Indian flavours. Monday 30 May, from 7pm. AED 499 per person.
