The innovative food forward series will debut at Tori No Su from 1 to 10 July 2021.
An innovative series of contemporary and exclusive dining events, Food Forward, will showcase the emirate’s diverse gastronomical landscape and growing culinary legacy through an exciting line-up of collaborations between renowned chefs and popular dining establishments.
The first of several series will commence a year-long schedule of exciting Abu Dhabi Culinary events, with chef Reif Othman collaborating with Emirati chef Faisal Alharmoodi. The chef-and-restaurant culinary tour de force will take over Tori No Su at Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers for ten days of signature curations and vibrant flavours.
Foodies will be able to revel in specially curated dishes, including Wagyu tataki with truffle ponzu and seared Scottish salmon with braised onion and lemon ponzu from Othman’s acclaimed repertoire of unconventional Japanese street food. This exciting partnership with fellow gourmand Chef Faisal is set to elevate the city’s dining scene with an exclusive line-up of menu offerings, including street food dishes, signature plates and delectable desserts.
“As a truly homegrown chef and long-time admirer of Chef Othman’s culinary expertise and unrivalled ability to conceptualise unique restaurant offerings, I am thrilled to be collaborating with him for the inaugural Food Forward. Together we will take diners on a culinary journey which traverses tastes and flavours of the Mediterranean and recipes and culinary traditions from the Far East,” said Chef Alharmoodi, who is renowned for fusion dishes such as camel lasagne and samosa burrata.
“I am extremely excited to join forces with Chef Faisal given his expertise and innovative approach to cooking,” added Othman, whose Reif Japanese Kushiyaki and Kushi by Reif concepts have made him one of the most in-demand chefs in the UAE restaurant scene. “His style is one I have admired for a long time, not only because of the taste of his unique creations but also the total commitment to paying tribute to local heritage with every flourish.”
