An authentic taste of Lebanon at the newly reopened Barouk

If you’re looking for a Middle Eastern meal with a difference, then we’ve got the perfect venue for you. Barouk at Crowne Plaza Yas Island has reopened and returns to the capital’s dining scene with a menu of hot and cold mezze and speciality dishes hailing straight from the Levant region.

Barouk has long been a favourite with diners in the capital, boasting great food and highly proficient service. You’ll be warmly greeted upon arrival and led into the beautiful restaurant space, simply furnished and elegantly adorned with traditional mashrabiya patterns and brass accents. To mark the reopening, a sleek new look is expected in the coming weeks, with colourful hues being added to the interiors alongside vibrant contemporary Lebanese artworks.

Barouk Abu Dhabi

If you fancy fantastic Lebanese food and authentic music, then Barouk is the place to be on Yas Island. This restaurant is a firm favourite at Fact due to its fun atmosphere and consistently good Lebanese dishes. Chef Abdulkhader Zeitoun has curated a menu filled with glorious Levantine fare, emphasising fresh ingredients, innovative culinary techniques and bold yet homely flavours.

Barouk Abu Dhabi

The menu at Barouk effortlessly blends traditional Lebanese dishes alongside Barouk signatures such as Moutabal Al Barouk, Barouk Mixed Grill and Kebbe Sajiye. There is also Hummus Istanbuli (chickpea puree, garnished with chopped tomato bell pepper and pine seeds), tabouleh, fatoush, Halloumi Mukarmashy (crumb fried halloumi cheese served with onion, tomato and dry apricot), Kibbet Baytna (kibbeh filled with meat and spices) and Warak Inab (stuffed vine leaves with tomato, parsley and rice). In addition, All of Barouk’s kebabs are carefully marinated and barbecued over searing charcoal heat for an incomparable taste.

Last but certainly not least, there are some decadent and tasty Lebanese desserts to try, such as umm Ali and kanafe. 

Barouk Abu Dhabi

The restaurant stays true to authentic Lebanese gastronomy as they serve grapes produced from various regions of Lebanon. Meanwhile, an alfresco dining area overlooks Crowne Plaza’s swimming pool and Yas Links golf course and will be the ideal place to eat once the weather cools down. 

The best thing about this Barouk is its unique set-up and Levantine appeal. It has a lovely laid-back atmosphere and the food is spot on. A great experience to enjoy with family and friends – the more, the merrier!

Barouk Abu Dhabi

Several theme nights throughout the week add to the appeal of Barouk, including the Thursday Signature Levant Experience, which involves a four-course traditional Lebanese set menu for AED 120 per person. The Friday Mashawi Festival offers diners a feast of unlimited Arabic grills, ‘Ouzi on the Trolley’ and Lebanese sweets, from AED 170 per person. Finally, Saturday Fire & Smokes includes premium hubbly bubbly and an assortment of hot and cold mezze, from AED 165 per person.

From 1 October 2021, Barouk will be open daily, from 5pm to 2am, with a daily happy hour from 5pm to 8pm.
