Celebrity favourite Sumosan opens at The Dubai EDITION

Lobster salad, king crab or truffle tiradito, anyone? Here’s what to expect from the new Japanese restaurant.

When only fine-dining Japanese food will do, head over to Sumosan Dubai at The Dubai EDITION Hotel in Downtown Dubai. As Sumosan makes its Dubai debut, here’s what to expect from the renowned restaurant. 

Sumosan is an award-winning, internationally acclaimed Japanese restaurant. With more than twenty years in the industry, it is known for its contemporary twist on traditional flavours. 

At Sumson Dubai, the chefs draw inspiration from traditional Japanese culinary techniques, and dishes range from sushi to sashimi. The menu will feature the restaurant’s favourites including lobster salad, spicy king crab, truffle tiradito and salmon rice pizza. Plus, there will be classic and speciality cocktails created by the team’s mixologists. 

The EDITION Hotel is famous for its thoughtfully designed venues, and The Dubai EDITION executes the less is more approach. So, we are expecting Sumosan Dubai’s Japanese minimalist approach to be right on trend. 

So far, we know that there will be warm earthy tones, Japanese art on the ceiling and brass accents. Guests can choose between indoor and outdoor dining. The venue includes J Bar, an outdoor terrace to dine and drink, and a slate sushi bar, which offers sushi masterclasses and the chance to watch the chefs at work. Plus, there’ll be a DJ spinning tunes. 

Sumosan has restaurants across the world in Berlin, Doha, London, Montenegro and Riyadh. The restaurant is a popular celebrity hangout and we are expecting Sumosan Dubai to attract A-listers. Sumosan’s London branch is a hotspot for famous faces, as the likes of Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Cheryl Cole and Tamara Ecclestone have been spotted at the restaurant.
