The acclaimed chef’s first restaurant outside of the UK is now accepting dinner reservations.
A black screen punctuated by a spinning golden crown is the only indicator that you can now dine at Dinner by Heston inside Atlantis The Royal. An Instagram post on the official restaurant account for the restaurant revealed the news on Monday afternoon with a caption that reads:
“It started with Heston Blumenthal’s fascination with historic gastronomy. Discover the flavours from the history books. #DinnerbyHestonDubai is now open, visit the link in bio to book.”
For those who have yet to experience the acclaimed chef’s” meat fruit”, you’re in for a real treat. The Dubai outpost of the two-Michelin-star restaurant located in London, UK, is inspired by historical British cuisine dating back to the 1300s.
After researching everything from 14th-century cookbooks such as those by the royal chefs of King Richard II to Lewis Carroll’s flights of fancy, and working with food historians – the very modern dining experience of Dinner by Heston Blumenthal was born.
Diners in Dubai can expect cutting-edge British cuisine across a menu that encompasses everything from the aforementioned Meat Fruit (AED 140), made with chicken liver parfait and mandarin, to Savoury Porridge (AED 100), Powdered Duck Breast (AED 275), and the Tipsy Cake (AED 105), a trifle made with spit-roasted pineapple.
The restaurant comes to us from Heston Blumenthal, a chef and restauranteur known for his scientific and playful approach to cooking that utilises techniques such as vacuum-packing and sous vide to create unique dishes. The restaurant in London has received widespread critical acclaim, with food critics praising the innovative nature of the menu, and we expect Dinner by Heston in Dubai to be received in the same way.
Located off the hotel lobby with its wonderful FireFalls fountain, Dinner by Heston offers a beautifully designed dining room anchored around strong service, warm lighting and luxurious furnishings.
Dinner is not the only concept that Heston is bringing to Dubai. He has also opened his first-ever cocktail bar with Resonance By Heston Blumenthal, where guests can enjoy the molecular marvels set against the backdrop of an aquarium filled with 4000 jellyfish.
With 17 world-class restaurants and bars, Heston Blumenthal is in good company at Atlantis The Royal. The resort is also home to Hakkasan offshoot Ling Ling, Ariana’s Persian Kitchen from TV chef Ariana Bundy, high-end Hellenic restaurant Estiatorio Milos, Peruvian hotspot La Mar by Gastón Acurio, and Jaleo Dubai by José Andrés.
