Female-led restaurant, Fi’lia opens at SLS Dubai

Fi’lia Dubai marks the fourth location globally and the first that is fully female-led in the Middle East.


SLS Dubai Hotel & Residences has made quite the impressions since opening its doors earlier this month. 

Boasting two sky-high infinity pools and several exciting food and beverage concepts, the dining destinations at Dubai’s latest five-star opening include Carna by Dario Cecchini, EllaMia and the fourth global location for Fi’lia.

Female-led restaurant Fi’lia

The fully female-led restaurant is run by a team of ambitious women striving for culinary greatness and excellent service via an authentic approach to Italian cuisine with a hint of Mediterranean influence. 

The menu at Fi’lia’s first restaurant in the Middle East is inspired by recipes and traditions passed from one generation of women to the next, adding a modern twist to traditional Italian-Mediterranean dishes prepared with the freshest ingredients.

Fi’lia creations include Ravioli Quattro formaggi and lasagna, alongside contemporary creations such as the Burratina, the Cozze e vongole (mussels and clams) and the Beef Tenderloin. Naturally, pizza is a must at this stylish eatery – baked fresh with handmade dough and garnished with the finest ingredients from Italy. 

The beverage menu features a 100% female produced grape selection and a special cocktail menu, sure to evoke a story in every sip.

Sara Aqel, Chef de Cuisine, Fi’lia Dubai, adds: “I am so excited to be part of this amazing concept. With Fi’lia, I can finally be a woman of the kitchen, instead of ‘just being in’ the kitchen and I’m doing what I love most with a great team of other women around me.” 

Located on the 70th floor of SLS Dubai with 360-degree views over Dubai’s impressive skyline and Burj Khalifa, the restaurant exudes a modern Mediterranean charm. Inside, guests can dine by the pizza bar, the centrepiece of Fi’lia with its impressive copper ovens, while the live cooking station adds a contemporary touch.
