Four Dubai favourites and one brand-new concept are headed to the capital.

Offering a wealth of options to stay, play and dine in the heart of Abu Dhabi, waterfront hotspot Yas Bay has become the place to see and be seen in the capital. Offering something for everyone, including family fun at Central, destination dining at Paradiso and late-night revelry at Lock, Stock and Barrel, there will be several new additions to add to your dining bucket list in the coming months.

Yas Bay

Whilst at UFC 280: Oliveria Vs. Makhachev, team FACT spotted the hoarding for five new restaurants. Read on for all the details:

EL&N

Following successful openings in Doha, Dubai, Kuwait, London, Milan, Paris and Riyadh, one of London’s most Instagrammable cafés is coming to the capital. Located directly beside Etihad Arena, EL&N will take over a stand-alone building making it the closest venue to Abu Dhabi’s home of world-class concerts and sporting events. Instantly recognisable for its pink floral scheme and glamourous interior design, if EL&N Abu Dhabi is anything like its global counterparts, we can expect breakfast, lunch and dinner classics from the UK, in addition to Cheetos cheeseburgers, dulce de leche milk cakes, pretty desserts and (of course) coffee.

Kool Runnings

Taking its name from the 1993 film in which the Jamaican bobsleigh team fights against the odds to compete in the 1988 Winter Olympics, little is currently known about the soon-to-open Kool Runnings. The branding uses the slogan “Feel The Rhythm”, which indicates a concept that will hopefully combine food and dancing, similar to Miss Lily’s or Ting Irie. Let’s hope it’s a winning combination of Caribbean cuisine, rum-based cocktails and late-night revelry.

OPM Room

Dubai nightclub OPM Room is expanding its reach from Double Tree by Hilton – The Walk with a new venue in Abu Dhabi. OPM Room is highly regarded for its impressive list of classic and signature cocktails, alongside a large format spirit and champagne selection. If OPM Room in the capital is similar to the Dubai nightlife venue, we can expect plush red fabric wall designs, lavish gold finishes, and (hopefully) the one million dirham state-of-the-art lighting and sound system that keeps the party going until the early hours.

Phileas Fogg

Inspired by Jules Verne’s 1872 novel Around The World in 80 Days, Phileas Fogg has gained popularity in Dubai at Address Montgomerie but will soon be setting up shop in the capital. Expect a new destination for drinking and dining overlooking the Yas Bay waterfront, where wacky decor (think: hot air balloons, grandfather clocks and travel-related trinkets) and a worldly menu of breakfasts, bar bites, sharing boards and pizzas take centre stage. However, we’re most excited about the hearty weekend roasts with all the trimmings.

The Notorious

Another favourite from Double Tree by Hilton – The Walk, is taking up residence at Yas Bay. The Notorious is not a restaurant dedicated to the late Biggie Smalls (we wish) but a local sports pub offering a no-frills, community feel for a quick pint, some pub grub, and watching the football. In addition to a menu revolving around fry-ups, loaded butties and pub grub, The Notorious will serve a selection of hops, brews and beverages accompanied by live sports and live music.
