Fine Dining Inside a Mega Mall – Because Why Not?

Dubai’s fine dining scene continues to grow, except the latest addition is somewhat unexpectedly placed, instantly adding to its intrigue – tucked away inside a new private members club by the name of The 9 Lounge, at Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates. Meet Garth, a Southern European neo-bistro created to cater to those with a penchant for refined medleys of Italian, Greek, and Southern French cuisines. Guests who are not members of The 9 Lounge are encouraged to make reservations in advance and abide by the formal dress code, which is suited to the elevated ambience of the locale.

As for what that ambience entails? A backdrop of neutral tones – cream, beige and brown – complemented by blush-pink furniture. Plush pampas grass, meanwhile, lines the windows and the bar canopy, accented by bright neon lighting that lends an effortless luminous glow to the space. And because Garth wants to take guests on a journey that goes beyond the plate, offering an ideal space to socialise and indulge in finer experiences, the cigar lounge creates a relaxed atmosphere with unique sound design that features a distinct combination of genres. Produced skilfully by an ensemble of instrumentalists from Moscow, the music includes streams of new wave funk, soul, jazz, chill rave and afrobeats. 

A soundtrack of electronic chill rave beats sets the tone for breezy evenings on the verdant terrace, whilst soulful piano music graces special dinners at the restaurant. Here, guests can indulge in the finest mix of seafood, meat and vegetarian dishes – think: Zucchini Carpaccio, Beef Cheeks Paccheri, Poached Sea Bass, Truffle Risotto, Niçoise Salad, Beef Tartare, Burrata Grande and more. And between Garth’s specialty raw bar and array of vegan options, everyone’s taken care of. A sweet finish comes courtesy of rich classics like Basque Burnt Cheesecake, Tiramisu, Almond Crumble with Berries, Dark Chocolate Mousse, and hand-crafted ice cream. 

Although culinary adventure is Garth’s raison d’être, the menus – expertly designed by Mohammed Musthafa and celebrity chef Sergei Andreychenko – will maintain the sophisticated taste and plating associated with the brand. Elsewhere, a team of professional mixologists and sommeliers assists guests in selecting from an extensive range of Old World and New World wines, cocktails and premium spirits.
