For two nights only, the chefs are collaborating on a 10-course seafood menu.
You’ll have MICHELIN Stars in your eyes at Ossiano’s one-off dining experience. The restaurant serves food from two MICHELIN recognised restaurants: Ossianio’s own Gregoire Berger, and Brazilian restaurant D.O.M’s Alex Atala. So, as the culinary heavyweights create a 10-course seafood menu, all in a magnificent underwater setting, here’s what to expect.
Chef Gregoire Berger is continuing his season of world-class culinary collaborations, and this time it’s with chef Alex Atala. The event runs from 14 to 15 October, and promises to be a fine dining experience with a difference.
The tasting menu sounds like an adventure – labelled Euphoria of a New Departure, it focuses on seasonal produce from the chefs’ home countries of Brazil and France. The ocean-inspired dishes include sea urchins with sour milk and XO, pão de queijo (Brazilian cheese bread), and toothfish with tucupi (a wild root found in the Amazon) and tapioca.
Alex is one of the world’s most famous Brazilian chefs, and this is his first-time cooking in Dubai. D.O.M, which helped put São Paulo on the map, featured on World’s 50 Best Restaurants list, and was awarded two MICHELIN Stars in 2015.
As for Gregoire, he draws on his childhood in Brittany and pays homage to the seasonality, terroir, and sea foraging of the region. Since Gregoire arrived in Dubai, he has been flexing his culinary muscles at Ossiano. He is the youngest and only chef in the country to be featured in the 100 in the Best Chef Awards for five years, and won three toques in the UAE’s debut Gault&Millau guide.
Ossiano is located inside Atlantis, The Palm, next to a floor-to-ceiling aquarium. Sure, there are stingrays and sharks swimming past you, but this impressive menu ensures that your eyes are firmly on your plate. The menu is priced at AED 1,250 per person, and as seating is limited, book early.
Have a starry night, Dubai.
