Hawkerboi restaurant: Is the secret chef coming to JLT?

The mystery chef is taking his popular supper club experience to a restaurant.

The rumour mill is churning. News is spreading that Hawkerboi Supper Club might be opening a restaurant in Dubai’s Jumeirah Lakes Towers. The chef is famed for his secret identity, so it comes as no surprise to find that the news about the restaurant is also hush-hush. 

A sign for Hawkerboi has been spotted in Jumeirah Lake Towers at the three-level building, Parkhouse, and it is expected to open before the end of the year. GCC Interiors confirmed on its website: “At Parkhouse, GCC Interiors executed the complete furnishings and fit-out of three distinctly styled restaurants across three levels: Splendour Fields, Hawkerboi and Frankie’s.”

The statement adds: “Each of these F&B spaces showcase signature decor elements that sets the mood and ambience of the different themed dining experiences. Apart from these dining spaces, The Park also features an amazing playground zone, a providore area with a fish monger, deli and butcher.”

The new restaurant is expected to include indoor and outdoor eating areas, plus a terrace bar. Hawkerboi is famed for his hawker-style food, which is cooked on the fire. So, we imagine that the menu will include the chefs classic charcoal and wok-fired dishes. 

Hawkerboi Supper Club launched in April 2021, and has been entertaining guests with South East Asian-inspired cuisine. Foodies have been speculating over Hawkerboi’s identity, as he has been labelled the Banksy of the culinary scene. Nobody knows his (or her) identity, which has only added to the fascination.
