The exciting new venue includes DJs, drinks and Japanese dishes.

Honeycomb Hi-Fi is alive with the sound of music – the region’s first listening bar has opened in Business Bay and is a cool new hangout. On the foodie front, the venue labels itself as an izakaya serving craft cocktails. On the cultural front, it includes photography exhibitions, a listening station, and a record and book shop.

Music lovers, this one’s definitely for you. Located in Pullman Dubai Downtown, Honeycomb Hi-Fi is a musical hotspot. Visitors can browse through vinyl records ranging from Prince to Nina Simone, and hear them being spun by local DJs. Each week the venue welcomes musicians and previous guests have included Dubai-based DJ and producer Pho, Egyptian DJ Shadi Megallaa, and music producer as well as founder Gallery DXB Diamond Setter.

The Japanese menu is divided up between cold, raw, hot, binchotan grill and rice dishes. The hot dishes include scallop siu mai, lamb gyoza, eggplant monaka sandi and chicken karaage. The binchotan grill includes mongo squid, grouper, duck breast, wagyu ribs and king oysters. Plus, the drinks cover beers, sake and cocktails.

Honeycomb Hi-Fi exudes informal yet neat Japanese izakaya vibes. Settle into one of the black leather seats, which are surrounded by wooden panels. The walls are decorated with arty black and white photos, and the DJ booth includes a playful nod to the venue’s name in the form of a red neon bee. Plus, speakers are placed decoratively around the space – we especially love the statement speaker directly above the bar, which lets you know that music is core to the venue.

Honeycomb Hi-Fi has been created by the same team behind the restaurants Indochine and Miss Lily’s Dubai. If these restaurants are anything to by, especially the FACT Dining Awards Dubai winner Indochine, then Honeycomb Hi-Fi is on its way to being a success.

The music sounds better with Honeycomb HiFi.
