Fiery Gochujang, hints of wasabi and buttery Wagyu steak elevate this street food experience to the next level.

Kawai, the sister restaurant to Dubai’s fine-dining Wakame Restaurant, is now open in Dibba, Al Fujairah.

Serving up Asian street food, with unexpected cross-cultural culinary twists, Kuwai is located between Safeer Mall and First Abu Dhabi on Bank Road in Dibba.

Open daily from noon to midnight, customers can expect a dining experience emphasising quick service to satisfy cravings without compromising quality. The restaurant’s contemporary urban-chic interior offers a funky backdrop to enjoy Japanese street food favourites. In the kitchen, sharp blades make quick work of maki, skilled hands layer Sandos, and spice-masters make sure the baos and burgers are fully loaded. Each dish is constructed from unexpected ingredients combined with explosive flavour combinations.

The inspiration for Kawai comes from Emirati entrepreneur Alawi Al Braik. “Kawai is an extension of its sister company, Wakame. It continues to take Asian-inspired street food to the next level, delivering on quality of ingredients and innovative flavours, while still remaining affordable and accessible” Al Braik says.

The Kawai brand has expanded tremendously in recent months. “We started with several pop-ups and now we’ve opened our first restaurant. As a community-based homegrown business, we know what our customers want and not many other casual-dining chains can offer the same” says Al Braik.

Future plans include expansion across the UAE and eventual franchising throughout the GCC.
