The celebrity chef is making his UAE debut with Spanish tapas.

Hola, José Pizarro. We are excited as the Spanish chef is making his UAE debut, and his new restaurant is scheduled to open in Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers. José by Pizarro is set to open in January 2023, and will bring terrific tapas to the capital.

José by Pizarro in Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers will showcase some of José’s signature dishes across a sharing concept. The small plates include spicy chicken croquettes, air-cured beef and potato tortilla with caramelised onions. Traditional plates include white wild prawns with chilli and garlic oil, and lamb meatballs in orange sauce. Large sharing plates include suckling lamb and free-range chicken. Plus, desserts include a chocolate pot, almond tart and cheese selection.

José hails from Talaván, a small village in Spain. He was born into a family of farmers, and grew up producing vegetables, meats and dairy products. Despite training to be a dentist, food was in his blood and he swapped the scaler for a spatula.

Based in London, José is described as the Godfather of Spanish cooking in the United Kingdom. He has restaurants across Europe, and this is his first to open in the Middle East. In London, his venues include José Tapas Bar Bermondsey Street, Pizarro Restaurant Bermondsey Street, and José Pizarro Broadgate Circle. Plus, Brits may well recognise José’s face from TV programmes including Saturday Kitchen and Sunday Brunch.

José by Pizarro in Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers will have some fantastic restaurant neighbours. The hotel is already home to 12 restaurants and bars, which include Ray’s Grill steakhouse with a view, Li Beirut which serves classic Lebanese cuisine, the FACT Award-winning Nahaam is synonymous with brunch, and Lillet Pool Bar for sundowners.

José, welcome to the UAE.
