Located on Yas Marina, the French-inspired venue opens on 17 November.

Things are about to get very sophisticated in Abu Dhabi, as Penelope’s Brasserie & Jazz Bar Américain is coming to the capital. The bar has the jazz seal of approval as Layla Kardan, the jazz musician behind Dubai’s Papillion cabaret, is just one of the big names backing the project. So, if you love French cinema, jazz and wine, put this new venue on your must-visit list.

Penelope’s Brasserie & Jazz Bar Américain aims to bring the glamorous lifestyle of the Cote D’Azure to Yas Marina. The new venture has been brought to life by renowned restaurateurs Hamdan Al Khafaji and Layla Kardan, Penelope’s has been brought to life by Eddie Ghazal, Creative Director and Managing Partner of Fighterbrands, and the creative mind behind Dubai’s Canary Club and Tikis rooftop and lounge.

Penelope’s Brasserie

Guests will be entertained by talented jazz musicians throughout the night. We’re hoping that it’s co-founder, Layla Kardan, makes an appearance on stage. The Dubai-based Iranian singer is famous for her soul songs, which include GoddessAs One and Underwater. Clearly a Francophile, her previous venture, Papillion, is a celebration of Parisian cabaret.

Penelope’s Brasserie & Jazz Bar Américain opens in time for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. So far, we know that the interiors will offer an elegant space with Art Deco touches. Thanks to its Yas Marina location, the venue will boast views of the sparking sea and luxury yachts.

Visitors can enjoy a French brasserie dining experience on the terrace, and sharing-style French Mediterranean cuisine. Plus, the drinks will include classic cocktails and signature mixes.

Penelope’s Brasserie & Jazz Bar Américain launches on 17 November, and is open daily from 6pm. Count us in.
