The Italian Supper founders will soon host a special event at VERO.
Whether you’re a fan of hearty, home-cooked Italian food or coastal Italian cuisine with a modern spin, there’s nothing but good news here. The Italian Supper is joining forces with the recently opened VERO restaurant at Hilton Dubai Jumeirah to host a special dinner event on Saturday, 28 May. Kicking off at 7pm, the pop-up will serve six courses that reflect the collaborative efforts of Fabio, Flavio, and Chef Andrea Mugavero.
For the uninitiated, Fabio and Flavio are two self-taught chefs who hail from Rome and have lived in the UAE for over a decade. After years of welcoming people of all backgrounds into their homes for authentic Italian meals, the pandemic prompted them to fully dedicate their lives to cooking traditional Italian dishes for groups of people – and The Italian Supper was born. Rooted in breaking down the barriers of socialising and reuniting people over good food, it continues to build a cult following thanks to its cosy dining experiences.
It was only a matter of time, then, until Chef Mugavero encountered Fabio and Flavio’s culinary passion and invited them into his kitchen at VERO, resulting in this upcoming dining event that will incorporate an array of Mediterranean flavours into a handpicked selection of dishes and held at VERO. The six-course menu will feature dishes like carpaccio, slow-cooked grilled octopus with soft potato sauce, and squid ink black squared spaghetti with sea urchins, light garlic sauce and lemon oil. These will be followed by carnaroli risotto with fava beans purée and Mazara prawns straight from Sicily.
The event is priced AED 320 per person, inclusive of soft drinks, a selection of coffees, and The Italian Supper signature barrel-aged Negroni. Alternatively, you can opt for the package that pairs the one-off menu with Italian wines at AED 450 per person.
