Marea will welcome chef Solemann Haddad of Moonrise next month.

Two of the city’s finest chefs, both recognised by the Michelin Guide, are coming together for one night only – and it promises to be epic. Chef Yunus Emre Aydin, Executive Chef of Marea, has invited Chef Solemann Haddad of Moonrise fame for a kind of culinary collaboration that isn’t typically seen. Rather than a traditional four-hands dinner where chefs take turns presenting their own separate dishes to diners, this upcoming event will feature dishes created by both chefs in a collaborative fashion.

Taking place at Marea on 7 November, it will showcase Haddad’s passion for local ingredients and tales of growing up in Dubai intermingled with Aydin’s expertly cooked seafood and NYC-meets-Levant flavours. Guests can expect uniquely collaborative dishes such as Hamachi Sashimi with Syrian Sumac & Sorrento Lemon Emulsion, Hazelnut Crusted Seabass in Black Garlic Yuzu Beurre Blanc, and Koji Wagyu Short-rib Freekeh Ravioli. The specially created menu will consist of seven courses and is priced at AED 650 per diner, with two seatings (6pm and 9:30pm) available.

For the uninitiated, New York export Marea is a chic and modern dining institution in DIFC, merging the flavours of coastal Italy with the swagger of the Big Apple. Moonrise, meanwhile, is located on the rooftop of a nondescript residential building in Satwa and anchored in minimal waste and maximum use of regional produce. The original post of Marea boasts a Michelin star, while Solemann Haddad took home a Michelin Young Chef Award earlier this year.
