A new Mediterranean restaurant has opened in Abu Dhabi’s trendy Al Bateen

Medi Terra is your new go-to for fresh Mediterranean flavours and Italian classics in the heart of Al Bateen.

Abu Dhabi has seen a plethora of new restaurant openings in recent months. New hotspots include the Hamptons-inspired Montauk in trendy Al Bateen to the Jamaican influenced Ting Irie in Saadiyat Island’s Al Mamsha district. 

The latest opening in the UAE capital is Medi Terra, a Mediterranean-inspired situated close to The Abu Dhabi EDITION hotel, overlooking the waters of Marsa Al Bateen Marina.

Medi Terra features a picturesque alfresco terrace bound to conjure up images of coastal European destinations such as Capri, Santorini and Positano. In a summer where many of us will be unlikely to travel, Medi Terra looks set to provide the sense of escapism that we all crave. 

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Medi Terra prides itself on using premium ingredients to create high-quality yet straightforward dishes that showcase fresh flavours from the Mediterranean, with a particular focus on Italian classics. 

Menu highlights include calamari with lemon aioli and basil arancini filled with cheddar and mozzarella and fresh salads of kale, fig and avocado with cranberry and lemon oregano dressing, and creamy burrata on a bed of red and yellow cherry tomatoes with arugula and balsamic reduction.

For a heartier bite, a selection of sliders, pizzas and pasta are available. Signatures include the seafood linguini full of scallops, shrimps, calamari and bisque, alongside the Medi Terra pizza topped with a feta and mozzarella, Kalamata olives, mushrooms and bell peppers.

Delightful main courses include everything from beef tenderloin served with kale, mushrooms, crispy potatoes and parmesan pepper veal jus to braised chicken alfredo. Those with a sweet tooth won’t want to miss the dessert counter, featuring indulgent tiramisu, red velvet cake with vanilla custard and raspberry sauce, and coconut panna cotta with mango and almond foam.

The family-friendly restaurant also offers a kids’ menu. With idyllic, uninterrupted views over the marina, Medi Terra in Al Bateen provides both indoor and outdoor seating for relaxing dining experiences and leisurely coffee breaks.
