Sfumato joins Basko, ROKA and The Maine inside the Zaha Hadid-designed Opus by Ominyat.
Named after a Renaissance painting technique that softens the transition between colours and creates softened outlines and hazy forms beyond what the eye is focusing on, Sfumanto is a two-level restaurant opening inside The Opus by Ominyat in Business Bay.
An atelier that offers a new twist on comfort food, Sfumato will feature boutique-style urban dishes created by acclaimed chef Alena Solodovichenko who previously worked at Moscow’s Michelin-recognised Grand Cafe Dr. Zhivago. The menu at Sfumato centres around locally sourced produce and traditional family recipes, where vegetables are treated as the star of the show rather than just a side dish. The restaurant will offer a fresh perspective on gastronomy whilst showcasing the daring experimentation of a leading female chef in a traditionally male-dominated field.
Expect a range of starters, salads, raw bar selections and dishes for meat eaters and vegans, as well as a selection of breakfast, lunch and after-hours options. In addition to the food offering, guests can expect an extensive patisserie, trendy low-ABV cocktails and no-alcohol spirits.
Located in the heart of the ME Dubai hotel, Sfumato will embody light and contemporary design elements to complement the iconic design by Zaha Hadid whilst also reflecting the urban lifestyle of its Business Bay neighbourhood.
Sfumato will be in good company at The Opus by Ominyat, which is already home to several dining destinations including Basko, Salmon Guru and the FACT Award-winning ROKA and The Maine Land Brasserie.
This new concept comes to Dubai from OY Hospitality, the team behind popular restaurants Garth, Vaga and the soon-to-open Italian hotspot Sartoria Lamberti and Frank by Basta on Palm Jumeirah.
