The Experience by Reif Othman, a bespoke omakase tasting menu, returns to delight Dubai diners from 1 April.
Taking place in the newly renovated Reif Japanese Kushiyaki, The Experience allows the homegrown hero and larger than life personality Reif Othman complete creative control over the dishes served to his diners. The bespoke dining experience occurs at the restaurant’s kitchen counter, where Reif will personally prepare his unconventional Japanese food.
Each month will boast a different culinary theme. April will focus on Japan’s cherry blossom season, May’s offering will be themed around the Japanese holiday of Golden Week, and June will pay homage to all things sushi. Other new themes will be revealed on social media.
Two tasting menus are available: a selection of eight dishes for AED 350 and 12 dishes for AED 550, including a wooden chopstick gift set.
The Experience by Reif Othman can be booked seven days a week for lunch or dinner over a three-hour period, for a minimum of two people and a maximum of four. Reservations must be made five working days in advance to ensure Reif’s availability and the sourcing of exclusive produce.
“I am constantly developing new dishes, almost daily, so by bringing The Experience back, I can indulge Dubai’s foodies in a different, more refined take on my unconventional Japanese food. Once each culinary theme concludes, we will look to add some of these dishes to our specials menu,” said Reif Othman, chef-owner of Reif Japanese Kushiyaki.
In other news from Reif Kushiyaki, a Ramadan six-course set menu is being launched for both dine-in guests and via Deliveroo priced at AED 220. Expect Reif’s trademark unconventional twist with a miso lentil soup and dates to break your fast, followed by kibbeh nayyeh with miso hummus and flatbread, ‘RFC’ Reif Fried Chicken, and grilled seabass with rice. The unique Ramadan offering culminates with two desserts – matcha umm ali and yuzu mouhalabiya.
