This culinary newcomer screams Positano

Vero is now open at Hilton Dubai Jumeirah.

New year, new addition to the Italian offerings in Dubai’s dining scene – not that we’re complaining. Vero, has taken up residence alongside the likes of McGettigan’s and Mango Tree Thai Bistro at Hilton Dubai Jumeirah in JBR. Incidentally, the Italian word vero translates to ‘true’, reflecting the classic Italian coastal flavours that form the heart of this modern new restaurant.

Award-winning Executive Chef Andrea Mugavero (who hails from Sicily) will be spearheading Vero, bringing with him over three decades experience working with renowned Michelin-starred chefs and restaurants worldwide. He famously brings his deep Italian roots to every kitchen he enters – and Vero will be no exception. Commenting on the launch, Chef Mugavero said, “My involvement in Vero has been a thrilling journey, and I am excited to be taking the lead and overseeing the talented culinary team. Truly, I cannot wait to make guests smile when they taste my food, the rich taste of true Italian cuisine.”

Vero’s wide selection of pizzas and pastas promise to be incredibly enticing, in particular the unique crudo pizza Carpaccina that pairs a crispy dough with beef carpaccio, fresh rocket, Grana Padano and black truffle. The Raw Bar, meanwhile, will showcase an impressive selection of fresh seafood – choose from the sweetly delicate Langoustine Tartare (lobster with fresh pine nuts, Asian salad, crispy quinoa with white chocolate and yuzu) or Tuna Tataki Crudo (pan-seared tuna in teriyaki soy sauce, sesame seeds, crispy quinoa, wasabi, avocado and fresh sprouts). To finish the meal on a sweet note, diners can choose from traditional desserts such as Tiramisu and Cannoli.

As for how these Italian classics will be paired? Guests can enjoy sipping an Aperol Spritz mastered to perfection or sample an extensive range of rich Italian grapes – Mormoreto and Tenuta Ca’ Bolani Prosecco included. And because we dine with all five senses, Vero’s interiors feature soft colours, floor-to-ceiling windows that open up to an elegant outdoor patio, a saxophonist duo playing soothing tunes, and unforgettable views of Ain Dubai.
