The new restaurant has opened in Al Hayat Tower in Olaya.

Al Khobar is welcoming exciting restaurants. The latest restaurant to join the list is Hamaya, which showcases Nikkei cuisine. Located in Al Hayat Tower in Olaya, here’s what you need to know about the latest Latin American hotspot. 

The tagline for Hamaya in Al Khobar is “island of variety”, and the restaurant prides itself on serving Nikkei cuisine with a Ramayan style. The restaurant’s name refers to an arrow given at the Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples during the Japanese New Year.

Drawing inspiration from Japan and Peru, the menu showcases classic dishes. The menu spans starters, appetisers, ceviche, nigiri, taco and bao, salad, maki, tempura, flatbread, mains and sides. The appetisers include Beef Gyoza, Crispy Empanada, and Salmon Tiradito. The salads include a Corn Salad, Hamaya Grilled Chicken Salad, and Yazu Ebi Kale Salad. The mains include Beef Cazuela, Nikkei Style Wagyu Steak, and Sea Bream Umami Butter. 

Hamaya in Al Khobar has a sleek and sophisticated design. The bright and airy décor includes floor-to-ceilingfloor-to-ceiling windows, soft lighting, and grey to white tables as well as seats. The colours are punctuated by the potted plants, and green napkins embossed with the brand’s logo. Look out for the DJ, who provides a cool soundtrack to dinner.

If you want to make the most of the cooler weather, check out the Hamaya Café winter pop-up. Located outdoors, it serves coffees and sweet treats. The menu includes Cheesecake Pudding, Churros Balls, Croissant Sticks and Crêpes. 

Hamaya in Al Khobar is open from Monday to Saturday from 4pm to midnight.
