Saudi Arabia, you’re in for a musical treat. AZIMUTH 2023 is coming to AlUla from 21 to 22 September and includes a star-studded line-up. Now, the music festival has announced two new artists: Peggy Gou and The Kooks.
Peggy Gou is from Incheon, South Korea. As a child, she began classical piano lessons. She was taught to DJ by a friend, and started her career in East London. Her hit songs include Day Without Yesterday, If Go, Six O Six, Starry Night and Travelling Without Arriving. Plus, she launched her own fashion label, Kirin, and record label, Ninja Tune and Phonica.
The Kooks hail from Brighton, England. The group formed at BRIT School in Croydon – a stage school whose alumni includes Adele, Amy Winehouse, FKA Twigs and Jessie J. The line-up includes lead vocalist and guitarist, Luke Pritchard; lead guitarist, Hugh Harris; and drummer, Alexis Nunez. Drawing influence from the 1960s and post-punk, they combine pop, reggae and rock.
Over The Kooks’ career, they have won an MTV Europe Music Award and been nominated for a BRIT Award. They have released six studio albums and 30 singles. The album Konk debuted at number one on the UK Album Charts. Plus, their hit songs include Naïve, She Moves in Her Own Way and You Don’t Love Me.
AZIMUTH 2023’s line-up also includes the English singer-songwriter Jorja Smith, American electronic duo Thievery Corporation, and Australian singer Chet Faker. Plus, Dope Lemon, TINARIWEN, RY X, and Saint Levant.
