The hottest race in the region is back for its second edition.

There’s no doubt that AlUla is one of the most beautiful locations in Saudi Arabia, if not the world. This UNESCO World Heritage Site boasts stunning caverns located between majestic mountains, and a rich history that spans thousands of years. And it only makes sense to use the stunning landscape for the hottest race in the region, which is why AlUla Desert Blaze is set to return this summer.

Taking place on 24 August, AlUla Desert Blaze participants will run through iconic landmarks, including the ancient tombs of Hegra, the mirrored Maraya building, and many more.

AlUla Desert Blaze

The AlUla Desert Blaze is divided into four challenging categories. The five-kilometre race covers a short yet scenic route through Hegra and the Nabatean tombs. Registration for this race is priced at SAR 70 and is open to participants aged 16 and above. The 10-kilometer race allows for an extensive exploration of Hegra. This is priced at SAR 120 and is also open to those aged 16 and above.

Things get even more challenging with a 21-kilometre race, priced at SAR 200, which involves two loops around Hegra. This race tests your strength and willpower and is open to those aged 18 and above. But the toughest race has got to be the 42-kilometre lap. This full marathon is the ultimate challenge, stretching from Hegra to Maraya and back. With registration of SAR 350, this category is also open to participants aged 18 and above.
